Spring 2022 Updates

Community Labs to Suspend COVID-19 Community Screening at Alamo Colleges District Support Offices on Friday, April 29

Since September 2020, Community Labs has helped San Antonio and South Texas combat the crippling effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. Their weekly PCR screenings allowed us to safely re-open and keep our Alamo Colleges Family and community safe.

Very fortunately, the COVID-19 positivity rate is at an all-time low and demand for testing has dropped precipitously. As of Friday, April 29, 2022, Community Labs will no longer provide community COVID-19 screenings at the District Support Offices location.

Community COVID-19 screening sites are still open across the City of San Antonio. A complete list of those sites can be found at covid19.sanantonio.gov.

iconlowpositivityrate.jpeg The Alamo Colleges District continues to monitor COVID cases within our community. The City of San Antonio Risk Level is currently categorized as low and steady, with a COVID-19 positivity rate at a low 3.7%. This promising data shows a substantial reduction in positivity cases across the community.

Spring 2022 Safety Measures

We will continue to deploy the following COVID-19 safety measures:

conversation256x.png We will begin to adjust the number of on-site events, and engagements while monitoring the levels and infection rates in our community.

We want to give students the best possible service to get them connected to aid in their success while focusing on safety.
pledge256x.png We encourage everyone to take the Alamo Colleges District’s (ACD) Pledge to show their commitment to keeping our ACD family safe and healthy.

Our ability to return to on-site operations relies on each of us taking responsibility to:
  • get vaccinated or boosted
  • continue wearing masks while indoors
  • self-report COVID-19 exposure or diagnosis
  • quarantine as needed

While COVID-19 is shaping our approach, we remain committed to evaluating how we can adapt to balance the needs of our organization and students.
We are hopeful that these safety measures will allow us to have a safe return for the upcoming semester.
