Secure the necessary skills and training to secure employment in the oil industry along with major over-the-road carriers by obtaining a Texas CDL in a matter of a few short weeks. Alamo Colleges Workforce Training Network in partnership with SAGE Corporation and Star Career Training offers a quality 156-clock hour training program designed to exceed the standard certification for entry-level truck drivers. Students will learn Tractor-Trailer vehicle systems, the Department of Transportation (DOT) rules and regulations, and logs and legal topics pertaining to safe operations. Additional topics include cargo handling, hazardous materials, and the vehicle pre-trip inspection and students will receive a defensive driving course. All qualified applicants must at least be 21 years of age, have the ability to comprehend the English language sufficient to meet the Department of Transportation regulations, and pass a DOT physical exam as well as meet the Motor Carrier Safety Regulations; Qualification of Drivers.

 

Professional Truck Driver Program

St. Philip's College and Northeast Lakeview College offer a five-week training that exceeds the standard certification for entry-level CDL drivers.

Classes begin every two weeks throughout the year!

The program consists of classroom and video instruction, remote learning, full-range, and behind-the-wheel instruction.

Distinctive to the program is the one-to-one driving instruction and the in-house testing for both the CDL permit and driving exams, to avoid those long lines at the DMV.

CDL RefresherProgram -CVOP 1015

Do you have previous CDL driving experience, still maintain your CDL license, and are looking to re-enter the commercial trucking industry.
Then this course is for you!

The program covers pre-trip inspection, backing maneuvers, and one-to-one road instruction.
Additional fees for MVR and drug screen.
