INTRODUCTION TO PHARMACY - PHRA 1001Become a licensed Pharmacy Technician, and thrive in an industry-leading profession. Prepare for a variety of pharmacy settings by learning to recognize and translate medical terminology and abbreviations, drug delivery systems, law and ethics, prescription and medication orders, and the health care system. In addition, practice reading and interpreting drug orders, describe quality assurance and utilize pharmacy references.

PHARMACEUTICAL MATHEMATICS I - PHRA 1009Learn how to read, interpret, and solve basic problems faced in the preparation and distribution of drugs. In addition, become familiar with the conversion of measurements within the apothecary and metric systems with an emphasis on the metric system of weight and volume. |
PHARMACEUTICAL MATHEMATICS II - PHRA 1047Learn to perform advanced dosage calculations by using multiple conversion of measurements within the apothecary and metric systems. Cover ratio and proportion, percentage, dilution and concentration, intravenous (IV) flow rates, and solving dosage problems.

PHARMACY DRUG - THERAPY& TREATMENT - PHRA 1041Learn about therapeutic agents, their classifications, properties, actions, and effects on the human body and their role in the management of a disease. ETHICS AND TEXAS PHARMACY LAW - PHRA 1002Become well informed in the areas of communication and pharmacy law. INTRAVENOUS ADMIXTURE & STERILE COMPOUNDING - PHRA 1091Learn the process of compounding sterile preparations and aseptic technique within legal and regulatory guidelines specified by USP <797> standards. You will demonstrate procedures and techniques consistent with USP <797> standards; perform dosage calculations required for sterile product preparation; and demonstrate safe handling and assembly of compound sterile preparations. |
