INTRODUCTION TO PHARMACY - PHRA 1001

Become a licensed Pharmacy Technician, and thrive in an industry leading profession. Prepare for a variety of pharmacy settings by learning to recognize and translate medical terminology and abbreviations, drug delivery systems, law and ethics, prescription and medication orders, and the health care system. In addition, practice reading and interpreting drug orders, describe quality assurance, and utilize pharmacy references.

 

PHARMACEUTICAL MATHEMATICS I - PHRA 1009

Learn how to read, interpret, and solve basic problems faced in the preparation and distribution of drugs. In addition, become familiar with the conversion of measurements within the apothecary and metric systems with an emphasis on the metric system of weight and volume.

PHARMACEUTICAL MATHEMATICS II - PHRA 1047

Learn to  perform  advance  dosage  calculation  by using multiple conversion of measurements within the apothecary and metric systems. Cover ratio and proportion, percentage, dilution and concentration, intravenous (IV) flow rates, and solving dosage problems.

 

PHARMACY DRUG - THERAPY& TREATMENT - PHRA 1041

Learn about therapeutic agents, their classifications, properties, actions, and effects on the  human  body and their role in the management of disease. Receive detailed information regarding drug dosages, side effects, interactions, toxicities, and incompatibilities.

COMMUNITY PHARMACY PRACTICE - PHRA 1091

Become well informed in the areas  of  communication and pharmacy law. Learn about the laws, regulations and court decisions on federal, state, and local levels and the ethical considerations which control and influence pharmacy practice. Role-play, to better understand the responsibilities of the pharmacy technician and the pharmacist in a pharmacy setting.

ETHICS AND TEXAS PHARMACY LAW - PHRA 1002

Become well informed in the areas of communication and pharmacy law. INTRAVENOUS ADMIXTURE & STERILE COMPOUNDING - PHRA 1091

Learn the process of compounding sterile preparations and aseptic technique within legal and regulatory guidelines specified by USP <797> standards. You will demonstrate procedures and techniques consistent with USP <797> standards; perform dosage calculations required for sterile product preparation; and demonstrate safe handling and assembly of compound sterile preparations.

CERTIFICATION REVIEW - PHRA 1043

Review for your PTCB certification exam! The Pharmacy Technician Certification Exam (PTCE®) is a computer-based exam administered at Pearson VUE test centers nationwide. PTCE was developed to determine whether individuals have demonstrated the knowledge necessary to practice as pharmacy technicians.
