T-STEM Scholarships

The T-STEM Challenge awards merit-based scholarships in the amount of up to $2,500 per academic year to qualifying, high-achieving, full-time, Alamo Colleges District students pursuing careers in STEM and some Allied Health fields. Student eligibility is based on GPA and successful completion of courses that lead to degrees and careers in these specific fields.

Since 2012, the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board has awarded Alamo Colleges District approximately $5M to award scholarships to students seeking degrees and careers in science, technology, engineering and mathematics as well as in specific allied health fields.

Many Alamo Colleges District students have benefited from this scholarship program which awards qualified students with up to $1,000, each, in the fall and spring semesters, and $500 in the summer, for a total of up to $2,500 per year.

The T-STEM Challenge scholarship is based on merit (academic performance in high school and college) and does not require the student to be eligible for federal financial aid.

Awarded students may receive the T-STEM Challenge scholarship for a maximum of two academic years, and the semesters for which a scholarship is received do not need to be consecutive. Alamo Colleges District may award partial scholarships for a portion of an academic year to an eligible student.
