Alamo Colleges’ Delegation Rallies for Community College Day

Students, Faculty, Staff and Trustees at the State Capitol Building

On January 30, students, faculty and staff from all five of the colleges of the Alamo Colleges District joined Trustees Joe Alderete, Jr., Roberto Zárate, Dr. Gene Sprague and Student Trustee Monica Scraper, along with hundreds of students from other community colleges around the state, at the capitol in Austin for Community College Day. The group visited the capitol to rally and raise awareness of issues affecting them that may be considered in the current legislative session. The group members visited with elected officials and their aides to get an up-close view of the legislative process. The event was coordinated by the district’s Student Leadership Institute.
