Alamo Colleges' District Support Operations Moves To New Building

The Alamo Colleges’ district offices have a new address in a modern new building at 2222 N. Alamo St., at the corner of E. Josephine St. and Alamo St.
The district’s new zip code is 78215, but phone numbers and email for all personnel remain the same. The new 159,217-square-foot, three-story facility sits on a 12.5 acre site that was formerly the home of Playland Park. The new offices allow support staff for all of the district’s five colleges to be housed in one location for the first time, funded by debt refinancing savings and proceeds from the sale of the older surplus facilities throughout Bexar County. It includes the offices of the chancellor and vice chancellors, human resources, workforce education, student financial aid, finance and fiscal services, information technology, student success and academic success. The information technology data center and police dispatch center also is housed in the facility providing districtwide services.
The new building also houses a 300-seat meeting room which will be used for board meetings and be available for community meetings as well. The five main conference rooms in the facility are named for the mascots at the district’s colleges. By the end of the year, a UPS store and Cyber Café will be in operation. The design also features an open-air amphitheater and a centuries-old oak and other large trees which were carefully preserved. A rock garden traces the path of an historic acequia located on the property. The building was designed by Ford, Powell & Carson and WestEast Design Group, with construction by Skanska.
