Each of the colleges of the Alamo Colleges District are welcoming fall with free college and community events.

San Antonio College led the way with SACtacular 2019 on October 5. The annual celebration featured live music, carnival games and fun activities to greet the season.

St. Philip’s College followed with its “Fall Mix It Up” mixer October 10, designed to help students with their next step after graduation by offering resume-building workshops, tips on answering hard interview questions and information on employer expectations.

October 19 was the next big day for events at several colleges.

Northwest Vista College celebrated family-friendly HalloVista, with a free movie by the lake, trick-or-treating for kids, bouncy houses, arts and crafts, a haunted house and costume contests.

Northeast Lakeview College (NLC) welcomed the public to its second annual Boozarfest, featuring food and vendor booths, entertainment, games and activities for kids and arts and crafts. Proceeds from the event benefit student veterans, scholarships and student clubs and organizations. NLC also hosted OktoberRun, a family-friendly 5K walk/run around the campus, with proceeds to benefit Phi Theta Kappa and Student Veterans Alliance scholarships.

Meanwhile, at Palo Alto College (PAC), employees, students and the public gathered at the Palomino Pumpkin Patch to buy pumpkins, wander through the hay maze and enjoy face painting, games and crafts.

Future Events:

PAC will close out the month’s events with two free events for employees, students and the public. First is Dia De Los Muertos on October 28. October 31 is Palloween, which will include free treats, music, face painting and a costume contest at 12:30 p.m..
