Supplemental Instruction (SI) offers extra study sessions in addition to class for high-challenge courses and material. SIs can cover missing background material, review important concepts, go over tests – whatever focus the instructor wants.
- SIs are not a substitute for class.
- SIs are aligned with particular courses, but open to all.
- Find an area you want to review and join us!
Sessions are held online. Click on the links below for dates, times, and links:
Tutoring supports faculty with solutions tailored to your specific class:
Request a tutor visit to discuss what peer tutoring is, how it can help, and why students should take advantage of it. A tutor visit is a great way to help demystify tutoring for new or apprehensive students.
Refer your students for tutoring. Students are much more likely to take advantage of tutoring services when their instructors recommend it. We can also focus specifically on the challenges you want the student to address.
Request an Embedded Tutor to help facilitate small group exercises or discussions, work with individual students who require additional support, or provide guided review sessions in addition to out-of-class tutoring.
Request a class workshop. We can provide supplement presentations to your class on topics such as Note-Taking, How to Read Textbooks, How to Study, How to Proofread, and on both APA and MLA citation.
