New Student Orientation for First Time In College Students
Sign Up For New Student Orientation and Advising
Step 1: Complete all application and enrollment steps
Students who do not complete all steps in the enrollment process will not be permitted to remain in the orientation and will have to reschedule for a new date.
Steps in the enrollment process include:
- Complying with the bacterial meningitis law
- Completing the Go FAARR and Test Prep Modules
- Taking the TSI Placement Exam or providing qualifying exemption scores
- Complete Refresher courses (if applicable)

Step 2: Select your New Student Orientation Date
All First Time in College students must attend a mandatory New Student Orientation where they will become more familiar with NVC, register for classes, learn about payment and financial aid options, and prepare for the first day of classes.
Note: This New Student Orientation is for First Time in College Students who have never previously attended a college or university. Students who have earned coursework at a previous college or Alamo Colleges District campus will sign up for Transfer Student Orientation instead.

Step 3: Pay for classes
Students must either pay for their classes or ensure that applicable financial aid or veterans benefits are in place by the payment deadline or they will be dropped from courses and will have to re-register.

Cancel And Reschedule Your New Student Orientation
If you need to reschedule your orientation for a new date, you MUST first cancel your old session before signing up for a new date. Otherwise, the system will not allow you to register for a new date and you will receive an error message that says you are already signed up.
