NVC Employee Giving Campaign 2023: Heart to Heart

“Neurodiversity Affirming College Campus”

Friday, September 8, 2023
12:00 p.m. – 1:30 p.m.
Lunch Provided – 50 participant limit
Location: Mountain Laurel Hall (MLH) 101A-B

The Advocacy Center and STEM+ Plus+STEM project (an HSI STEM grant who’s funding is being used to support strategic efforts to improve mental health initiatives) are hosting a luncheon featuring Dr. Jennifer Cleveland. Dr. Cleveland received her PhD in Counseling Psychology from The University of North Texas. She has worked in a variety of settings including hospital, school, community mental health, academia, private practice and a university counseling center.

She has also worked at the McCarton Center for Developmental Pediatrics in Manhattan where she evaluated many children and teens with high functioning autism/Asperger’s (ASD) in addition to other developmental and learning disorders.

We are excited to partner with Dr. Cleveland to promote the development of a neurodiversity affirming practices through collaborative workshops and discussion across campus. This is one of several planned events which will focus on how we support all students in classrooms and across the campus.

 

IT Security Awareness 22-23 Training Deadline Approaching

August 31, 2023 is the last day to complete the annual IT Security Awareness training. This training needs to be completed every year. The 2023-2024 training will be available in mid to late October during Cybersecurity Month. Don’t delay complete your 22-23 training today.

 

NVC Risk Management

If any employee or student catches COVID, you no longer have to report it to Risk Management. Follow the CDC and Metro Health guidelines at: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/

If an employee or student sustains an injury/illness, contact nvc-riskmgmt@alamo.edu to report the incident and they’ll guide you through the process.

FOR EMPLOYEES ONLY: If you need medical attention, please go to your nearest Texas Med Clinic: https://www.texasmedclinic.com. Before you are seen by a doctor, let them know that you are an Alamo Colleges District employee and that this visit needs to be filed as workers compensation. You will not need to pay for the visit. Let us know if you are planning to seek medical care so Enterprise Risk Management can provide approval.

If you need medical help during an emergency, please call dispatch at 210-485-0911 or 911. Reminder: anytime there is an injury or illness at an Alamo Colleges property and/or during scope and practice of your job duties, it needs to be reported to direct supervisor immediately. Supervisors need to report injury or illness to Enterprise Risk Management within 24 Hours.
