Whether you're returning from a winter break or this is your first semester at Palo Alto College, it's important to re-energize to give this brand-new semester everything you have. There are many ways you can reboot right here on campus.

1. Take a break

There are lots of places to relax on campus, including lawn furniture in the Central Courtyard and single-person hammocks scattered around campus. Or head indoors for comfy couches and chairs in the Ozuna Library and Learning Center. While you're there, get a pick-me-up from Café Ozuna where they sell Starbucks coffee and a variety of treats.

2. Stay physically active

Take a mental break by exercising your body. Students get free access to the Aquatic and Athletic Center, which is equipped with an Olympic-sized swimming pool, fitness center, and gym. All you need is your student ID! View Aquatic and Athletic Center hours »

If you're too busy studying and don't have time to work out, try a "FitDesk" stationary bike while you do homework in the Ozuna Library!

3. Get involved

Getting involved on campus can give you more to look forward to besides your next class. Build a community of peers with similar interests by joining a club, or volunteer for the S.H.A.R.E. Center or another cause you care about. Learn more by contacting Student Life. »

Not sure about committing your time to a club? There are lots of events that happen at Palo Alto College that celebrate culture, expand learning, and often offer free food. Stay updated on upcoming events »

4. Treat yourself

The Cosmetology Learning Studio offers discounted hair, skin, and nail services. They even provide free haircuts to anyone with a military ID. To schedule an appointment, call 210-486-3177 or visit their webpage to learn more.

5. Stay connected

It feels good when you know what's going on and what's expected of you. Be sure to check your student email each day to keep in touch with your professors throughout the semester. Plus, you'll receive information about upcoming events, recent news, and valuable resources like scholarships, registration, and more.

You can also follow Palo Alto College on social media, where you'll get important information with some fun mixed in. Check us out on FacebookInstagram, and Twitter to learn about giveaways during the first week of school!
