The Scobee Education Center is proud to partner with FutureReadySA to provide free, virtual activities for school-aged kids to learn more about space, while earning cool digital badges to create a portfolio of their learning!  An account on FutureReadySA.org is quick, free and safe for all students in San Antonio to learn and participate in online challenges.  Registration takes just a few minutes! The Scobee MissionPLUS series of digital badges offers learners unique, choice-based sets of activities to explore space-science from the comfort of your living room!  With ten badges to choose from, there is truly something for everyone!  Below is the list of current, live badge opportunities and we are rolling out more each week!

MissionPLUS: Solar System: The MissionPLUS: Solar System badge is geared for students in 3rd-5th grades. With 8 separate challenges to choose from, you can visit strange and exciting places like the Oort Cloud, learn about the birth of our solar system, and even create your own scale model of our solar system!

MissionPLUS: Challenger: This badge is written to target students in 3rd-5th grades.  Learners will take a trip back through history to learn about the Challenger Crew, the Space Shuttle Program, design their own shuttle, and even get a hands-on opportunity to try some of Christa's Lost Lessons thanks to Astronaut Ricky Arnold!

MissionPLUS: ISS: Explore the International Space Station in a whole new way by earning this badge!  Engineering challenges, science experiments, and even wellness challenges await 3rd-6th graders in this fun, choice-based set of activities!

MissionPLUS: Space Weather: From weather on Earth to what is happening outside of our atmosphere, learners who take on the Space Weather badge challenge will get a whole new vantage point to learn about weather!  Web quests, graphic design, engineering challenges and even Citizen Science activities await middle schoolers who take on this badge!

MissionPLUS: Breaking Barriers: Need a little inspiration in your life?  Need to see some amazing women breaking through all the barriers society and culture have placed in their way?  Then working your way through this MissionPLUS badge is perfect for you!  Spend some time learning about women like Kalpana Chawla, Sally Ride, Christa McAuliffe and Eileen Collins to name a few!  Who knows, maybe it will inspire you to break a few barriers of your own!

MissionPLUS: Geology: Planetary Geology is an extremely interesting field of work.  For Geologists to understand soil, rocks and minerals on other planets, they first have to have a strong understanding of them here on Earth.  This badge explores Earth's geology  as well as on our moon and Mars!  MissionPLUS: Geology addresses volcanoes, the rock cycle, weathering and erosion as well as the Edwards Aquifer and even some yummy ways to demonstrate plate tectonics and soil layers!

MissionPLUS: Apollo to Artemis: From the early days of the Apollo Program to the present day Artemis plan, NASA has made some of the most impressive strides in technology and human understanding of space.  Use the choice chart to pick topics that interest you such as learning about how NASA and other companies plan to go back to the moon by 2024, the Saturn V rocket and even direct comparisons of technology used in Apollo versus Artemis.

MissionPLUS: Astronomy:Do you ever sit and gaze up at the night sky? Do you wonder what is out there and what it may mean to humans on Earth? By completing at least 4 activities in the MissionPLUS: Astronomy badge means you have taken a deeper dive into the wonders of the universe and our night sky. This badge is full of STEM activity topics like constellations, types of galaxies, citizen science opportunities and so many more. This badge is ideal from 4th-6th graders.  Use Join Code: GPGJU

MissionPLUS: Biology: Biology is a badge for middle and high school-aged students who are interested in both space and life science. From Astrobiology, to needs for life in space to even the possibility of "other" life in space, this badge has awesome activities to engage you.  Once registered on the site, use Join Code: GM9TB to begin your activities!
