Mi CASA Program

The Mi CASA Program provides special programming and outreach to our community.

Special Programming

On-line Parenting Programs – Triple P Parenting Program workshops, sponsored by the City of San Antonio’s Metro Health’s Violence Prevention Program will be offered in Spring 2021.  These workshops are free and open to any student parent, guardian, or part-time caregiver of one or more child(ren) 0-12 years of age at San Antonio College.  This collaboration allows our department to support the student-parent population on our campus, which is under high stress and likely to be at high risk of adverse outcomes in the context of the COVID-19 crisis

Leadership Programs for Women – The SAC Women4Women is a year-long program, during which women learn to identify their leadership style, learn leadership qualities, network with other women and gain practical experience in leading.  Opportunities for mentoring are available.

unDocuAlly Training – Offered every semester, these sessions focus on building the knowledge and skills to effectively support undocumented and DACAmented students at San Antonio College in order to establish a safe and welcoming culture that allows our students to thrive.

Community Outreach

Outreach Conferences – The Women Empowered (WE) Conference is offered every year in May to provide outreach into our community to a much-underserved population: women who are considering a return to school who are often overlooked in traditional outreach efforts.  Conference workshops provide information on topics such as overcoming fears and gaining confidence, GED preparation and testing, college enrollment, job search, financial literacy and leadership development.  The purpose is to inspire the women attending the conference to reach for their personal and educational goals, whatever that may be! This conference is open to students and the community.
