Staff Biographies 

Caroline Davis is a part of the English Faculty here at San Antonio College. She has worked with and for the SAC Writing Center for many years in distinct positions such as a CRLA Level I, II, and III tutor, Academic Specialist, and now Faculty Champion/Liaison. In addition to the SAC Writing Center, her involvement with writing centers also includes the Texas State Writing Center where she worked as a Coordinator, Admin, Staff, Tutor Trainer, and Tutor. She has presented several presentations and discussions at the CCCC’s, NCTE, and IWCA conferences, as well as completed her master’s in Rhetoric and Composition focusing on User-Centered Design, Tutors, Students, and Writing Center Websites.

Crystal Escobales is the Academic Program Specialist at the Writing Center. As a former SAC graduate and Fulbright scholar, she decided to come back to SAC to help students succeed through tutoring. Today, she has a CRLA Master English tutor certiication. In addition, she has a BA in Modern Language Studies with a focus on Japanese, a Minor in Spanish, and a MA in TESOL. 

Maria A. Chavez: I am a former SAC graduate with AS in Biology/Pre-Nursing Degree. I then decided to continue my education in the nursing program at SAC which I will be completing this coming spring 2020. I have been tutoring with the writing Center since Fall 2016 and now I am a CRLA Level 3 master English tutor. 

Delaney Montez graduated from the University of Texas at San Antonio with a BA in Global Affairs. She has a background in technical writing and spends her spare time reading classical literature. Her goal is to attend law school. As a tutor here at the SAC Writing Center, she hopes to help others become confident in their own writing and walk away from sessions feeling proud of their work.

Hi, ya'll I'm Dru Ozornia. It's been a pleasure tutoring in the Writing Center for a year now. Currently, I am a junior studying for a bachelor's degree in Rehabilitative Science. I graduated from San Antonio College in the Summer of 2020 with an associate degree in Biology: Pre-Professional. My lifetime goal is to make a difference in my community by assisting, teaching, and encouraging others. 
 
Katie Guzman is a graduate of the University of St. Thomas in Houston with a BA in Studio Art with a Minor in Creative Writing. She is also a current student at Northwest Vista College, pursuing a certificate in Digital Media. She has a background in editing and working with student-published writing magazines and herself enjoys writing in her free time. She hopes that her work with students will help them feel more confident in their writing and learn to love writing.
 
Rachel Baker has a BS in Biology with a Chemistry minor, a MS in Administration (HR concentration), and a PhD in Industrial-Organizational Psychology.  She has a strong belief in life long learning and brings varied life experiences to the SAC Writing Center.  Her goal is to empower students in their writing abilities and make a genuine difference.
 
Jocelyn Garcia is a student at San Antonio College studying Nutrition and Dietetics and is pursuing a doctorate in Chiropractic Medicine. She is a certified Pharmacy Technician who has seen firsthand how preventative medicine can change lives. Her dream is to become a chiropractor who educates her patients on the care of the human frame, diet, and the cause and prevention of disease by providing non invasive chiropractic services and specialized meal plans to treat the patient's disease.
 
Andrea Garrett is a returning SAC student, having attended 10 years ago as a Theatre Major before going to work in the industrial construction industry. She is now back to pursue her Associates in Radio/Television/Broadcasting. Andrea is OSHA Certified, has a great wealth of real-world experience and is passionate about English literature and the theatre.
 
Natalie Pfaff: I am currently in my last semester here at SAC. I will be earning an Associates in History, then in the spring I will be transferring to UTSA to get my Bachelors in Anthropology. I will be using that degree to work in Archeology. I might get a minor in museum studies I just haven’t decided yet. I was a work study in the SLAC lab and then I got transferred to the Writing Center in early October still as a work study.
 
Hello, my name is Nicholas Smith. I am 25 years of age and Leo is me zodiac sign. I love food, music, sports, art and outside activities. I am a homebody and am fascinated with outer space, the ocean, and nature.  I am going to school to get my major in computer science. I do not play many games, but my favorite is Def Jam fight for NeYorkSuper SmasBros., and NHL 03. I will be a father soon so I might just change my name to dad. 
 
Hi I’m Nayeli Eliset Luna: I had the wonderful opportunity to transfers from the Student Learning Assistance Center to SAC Writing Center. I’m apart of the TRIO, CAB and many other organizations from San Antonio College. I’m majoring in an Associates of Arts to glide into the University of Texas at San Antonio in pursing a Masters degree. My goal is to be one of the greatest artists of my community. Fun fact: I’m trying out for a rock climbing to compete in tournaments as of this year.
 
Hi, I am Cesar E. Cazares Monroy, and I am a current SAC student in my first semester. I am trying to get into the BSN program here to pursue my goal of becoming a Doctor of Osteopathic MedicineI have been working as a work study in the Writing Center since the fall semester 2021. 
 
Hello, I'm Alyss Gutierrez. This is my first year at SAC and I'm currently majoring in liberal arts ! I want to pursue to make movies and shows, I also want to perfect my drawing skills so I can design animations. I have an interest in spirituality, astrology, and writing. I'm also brainstorming ideas to start writing a script so I could finally work on a short film!
 

My name is Abbigayle Hernandez this is my first year at San Antonio College. I will be attending SAC for two years then I will transfer to Texas A&M San Antonio to earn my Bachelor Degree in Criminal Justice. I graduated high school with a Private Security Program Level Two Certificate. My free time consists of drawing, playing the piano, learning new songs on the guitar and also listening to music.
