What is the Biology: Pre-Professional program?
The Biology Pre-Professional program is designed for students who intend to enter a professional school after transferring and graduating with a bachelor's degree. Students entering this program are those interested in health professions such as medicine, optometry, dentistry, physical therapy, and veterinary medicine.
What will I learn?Students planning for the medical, dental, or veterinary tracks are encouraged to visit the Texas Medical and Dental Schools Application Service (TMDSAS) at https://www.tmdsas.com/ because the courses required are very well defined under the "Education Requirements" tab. What can I do with this course of study?Upon completion an AS and a BS in this field of study, students with competitive GPAs will be admitted to a professional school to complete their graduate education. |
What's special about this program?The Natural Sciences Department also offers specialized Pre-professional advising through the Pre-professional Health Advisory Committee. Visit the department to schedule an appointment.
