G.E.D. Hybrid English/Spanish
Our G.E.D. Hybrid (online with some in-person or remote requirements) preparation materials are available online to registered students. You can access the materials from your home or anywhere with Internet connectivity.
Registering for a G.E.D. preparation course in English or Spanish is easy.
Step 1: Register
Step 2: Scroll until you find the G.E.D. hybrid for Mondays/Wednesdays, Tuesdays/Thursdays, or Saturdays, then select the language and day or evening classes.
Step 3: Move through the site, at the final page it will ask for your credit or debit card. We also accept prepaid cards.
Step 4: Once you complete the online registration, a notice will be emailed to the Program Director. This shows proof of payment and prompts us to register you in our hybrid classes.
Online G.E.D. Study FAQ
The cost of our hybrid G.E.D. preparation is $150, payable before taking your practice test and beginning your hybrid preparation.
We do not require that you purchase any books, but having a good study guide can be a tremendous help. A variety of G.E.D. study guides are available, and you should pick the one that best suits your needs and your price range.
Our online G.E.D. preparation includes all four current test areas: language arts, social studies, science, and mathematics.
Yes, Online G.E.D. preparation is available in Spanish and English.
The requirements for passing the G.E.D. test is scoring 145 or better for each section of the test. Information about the official G.E.D. test can be found by contacting the St. Philip's College Testing Center.
The GED classes run for 10 weeks. After each session, you will take the official test for the subjects you have completed in the hybrid classes. Throughout the course, you will take practice tests to ensure you are on target before taking the official exam. If you are unsuccessful in passing the practice exams, we will recommend you enroll in another session to continue preparing for the exam.
Most definitely! We know that many G.E.D. students are hard-working individuals who must balance different priorities, and time can sometimes be tight. So if you need to register once more, we will gladly assist you in doing that.
You may access the hybrid G.E.D. preparation materials from any computer that has an internet connection. Should you find yourself without internet access at home, you may use public libraries or come to our campus and use a computer as a community member. Please feel free to visit the St. Philip’s College library the Center for Learning Resources - CLR for information on public computer use.
We work pretty hard to ensure that you have the information you need to make the right choice about G.E.D. preparation, but sometimes students do find that they would rather have face-to-face classes after all. If that happens, please contact us to find out when the next face-to-face classes will take place.

After all your hard work, it’s time to wrap things up and actually gets your G.E.D.! Information about testing available at St. Philip’s College can be found here: http://www.alamo.edu/spc/ged-prep (Please call the Testing Center for more current information on testing fees.) Students who meet eligibility requirements may be approved to have testing vouchers to waive testing fees. This information will be determined after registration. Make sure you take a printout of your practice test scores with you to sign up for the actual G.E.D. examination.
At this time, the official G.E.D. is only available at authorized testing centers. You may find the center nearest to you by using the locator available on the Texas Education Agency G.E.D. website. St. Philip's College has an authorized Testing Center.

We hope that doesn’t happen, but if you do need additional preparation, we welcome your re-enrollment. Re-enrollments fees will be required if you have to re-take the course more than once.
