"100 Languages of Children" by Reggio Emilia
March 4, 2020
The St. Philip’s College Child Development Center will feature the Reggio Emilia Approach, “100 Languages of Children,” as the theme for the extended summer daycare services.
The approach focuses on hands-on discovery learning that allows children to use their senses and “languages” to learn. The theme emphasizes the importance of providing children with one hundred ways to share and express their thinking of the world and themselves. Words, movement, drawing, painting, sculpture, construction, shadow play, collage and music are among the methods that will be exercised.
Teachers will provide children different avenues for thinking, revising, constructing, negotiating, developing and symbolically expressing their thoughts and emotions through the schedule languages listed below.
