Daveon Johnson

Daveon Johnson

The White House Initiative on Advancing Educational Equity, Excellence, and Economic Opportunity through Historically Black Colleges and Universities announces its tenth cohort of HBCU Scholars, including St. Philip’s College student, Daveon Johnson.

Daveon is very active on campus. For the last year, he has worked in the advising center as a Peer Mentor. In this role, he helps students register, provides information on degree programs, assists in building student schedules, and offers advice on being a successful college student. He also serves the college as the President of Collegiate 100 and as a member of the Blue Blazer Society.

Jaskiran Kaur Kahlon

Jaskiran Kaur Kahlon

Jaskiran Kahlon, a previous Presidential Scholar and Honor Student is currently working towards a degree in Information Technology Cybersecurity. She is interning at the City Tower and volunteering at the San Antonio Food Bank, helping with packing food for distribution.

Kenny Lafond

Kenny Lafond

Kenny Lafond, a recent recipient of the Presidential Scholar and an Honor Student, is currently working towards a degree in Information Technology Cybersecurity. He is actively involved in various organizations including Collegiate 100, Cyber Tigers Club, PTK Honor Society, National Society of Leadership and Success, and serves as a Peer Mentor for Student Life. Additionally, Kenny volunteers at the American Red Cross, contributing to monthly events aimed at addressing the health needs of the community.

Christopher C. Sauceda

Christopher C. Sauceda

Christopher Charles Sauceda, a recent recipient of the Presidential Scholar and an Honor Student, is currently pursuing a major in Psychology. He actively participates in various organizations including the Blue Blazer Society, Psychology Club, and E-Sports, and fulfills the role of a Peer Mentor for Student Life. Additionally, Christopher volunteers at the San Antonio Food Bank, contributing to the preparation of meal packets for the community.

Abram B. Tenorio

Abram B. Tenorio

Abram Bedolla Tenorio, a recent recipient of the Presidential Scholar and Alamo Promise Student of the Month in March 2024, is currently majoring in Engineering. He is actively involved in the Student Leadership Institute and is a member of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. Additionally, Abram is interning at Atwell and CPS Energy, and volunteers at the San Antonio Food Bank, where he assists in distributing food to the community.
