What is the English program?
The English Department offers three developmental courses, two college freshman composition courses, and additional courses in literature and technical writing.
What will I learn?Upon completion of the freshman composition courses, students will have the skills required to write a college level essay using MLA documentation and citation form. Sophomore literature courses will add practice in writing college essays and introduce students to various fields of literature. Creative writing and technical writing courses will introduce the principles of authorship in literary and technical writing. What can I do with this course of study?A student with an Associate's Degree in English will be well prepared to enter upper division college courses in the humanities.
