SPC Holds Annual Monster Tech Event
The St. Philip’s College Southwest Campus was buzzing with excitement as 700 high school students took part in the 12th annual Monster Tech event on Friday, Oct. 20.
“Monster Tech Fest 2023 was a huge success! It is a great opportunity for not only our programs to showcase all they have to offer but also for high school students to get informed on career and technical education programs at St. Philips College. Plus, we had an awesome live performance from the Passing Strangers band,” said Academic Program Director and Event Chair Manuel Navarro.
Students had the opportunity to participate in interactive workshops and laboratory tours provided throughout the day by Manufacturing Technology, Respiratory Care, Culinary Arts, Vision Care Technology, and Manufacturing Technology. Also, demonstrations were provided by the Welding Technology and Auto Collision Technology programs.
“St. Philip’s College SWC is honored to be able to host an event that introduces and exposes high school students to these skilled careers. We are looking forward to expanding and growing the event to be able to reach even more students for the life-changing opportunities that St. Philip’s College has to offer,” said Dean for Academic Success – SWC Chris Beardsall.
