Center of Excellence for Mathematics at St. Philip's College
The mission of the Centers of Excellence in Mathematics and Science is to increase student enrollment, engagement and success in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) degree programs. To accomplish this purpose, the primary objective is to create innovative partnerships with local school districts, regional higher education institutions, businesses and industry that will result in a larger, more diverse and well-developed STEM workforce.

Women Breaking Through (WBT)

An annual conference for teenage girls who are interested in pursuing academic and professional careers in STEM fields.

Our Summer Programs
Motivating & Engaging with STEM Activities (MESA)June - July MESA provides a summer of fun with Engineering, Robotics, Computer Programming and Math activities for students from Elementary all the way to High School. The student’s math skills are accessed and allowed to improve at their own pace toward subject mastery through EdReady. |
Mr. & Ms. Cipher Originally an all-girls camp this event is now open to boys and girls in 2nd – 5th grade. A one-week STEM summer program focusing on Coding, Robotics, and Computer Programing. Students will experience how to create games, build robots, and learn how to use storytelling as they code. |

For current SPC students interested in participating in MESA and supporting the youth of San Antonio, please apply for a Summer position with the COE Math.
CIMA Research
Students collaborate with a faculty mentor to participate in unique summer research opportunities with various local STEM university partners and industry leaders.
$3,000 Undergraduate Research Stipend

Project SURE
Students can earn paid internships with local STEM businesses, and receive assistance with university transfers.
Faculty members incorporate experiential learning into the classroom, while students gain hands-on, real-world experience inside and outside the classroom.
