"Tell Your Story" Culture Quilt Unveiling

Join us for the unveiling of the "Tell Your Story" Culture Quilt during Homecoming Week on Oct. 17, 2019, from 2:00-3:00 p.m. in the Heritage Room.

The quilt was started during the Spring 2019 CultureFest when students created paper "quilt blocks" representing their cultural heritage. This project also connects to the secret language of quilts used during the Underground Railroad as well as the importance of cultural heritage through quilts in the Alice Walker short story "Everyday Use." Karen Hinton Robinson is the artist who has pieced and finished the quilt for us; her quilts were on display at Culture Fest as well. Please help us celebrate the story of our SPC students, who are now creating new stories through their pursuit of education and career!
