Graduate Spotlight: Jabrasia Doss

Navy Veteran Jabrasia Doss will graduate in May with her Associate of Applied Science in Biomedical Engineering Technology.

Jabrasia was chosen to represent St. Philip’s College as a 2023 White House Initiative on Historically Black Colleges and Universities Scholar.  This initiative recognizes outstanding student leaders and empowers them with tools for excellence. In this role, she served as a student ambassador, ensuring information, resources, and opportunities were distributed to the St. Philip’s College campuses and traveled to the White House on an invitation from U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris to join a panel discussion on women’s reproductive rights.

Reflecting on this accomplishment, Jabrasia said, “St. Philip’s College gave me an opportunity I would not have received anywhere else. Being selected as an HBCU Scholar is a blessing, and I will put God first as I go forward.”

In addition to her role as an HBCU Scholar, she also held positions as the Student Government Association (SGA) Vice President and Interim President, and is currently serving as an SGA Commissioner. She is committed to caring for her daughter, excelling in her studies, and achieving the goals she sets out.

Jabrasia will graduate with a GPA of 3.78 and will deliver the invocation at the graduation ceremony.
