TPEG Spring 2022
The Texas Public Education Grant (TPEG) is awarded to eligible students to cover Spring 2022 tuition. In an effort to help remove any financial barrier to your enrollment plans, the Alamo Colleges District Student Financial Aid office is providing eligible students an increased Texas Public Education Grant (TPEG) award. This increased award ensures you can enroll in up to 15 hours in the Spring 2022 semester at no cost to you. |
FAQs
In District students who completed the financial aid process and received an initial financial aid award notification for the 2021-22 academic year prior to 12/10/2021 were eligible and reviewed.
If you are eligible, you should have already received a text and email regarding the aid.
*AlamoPROMISE students were not reviewed as their tuition and required fees are already guaranteed.
Students who met the eligibility requirement above who did not have ‘gift aid’ (federal and state grants) sufficient to cover 15 hours of tuition and fees had additional Texas Public Education Grant funds added to their financial aid account.
*Please note that gift aid can only be increased up to your remaining ‘need’ to avoid a financial aid overaward. For more information, see the Financial Aid Overawards section of the Maintaining Your Eligibility webpage.
You should only enroll in courses that count toward your degree or certificate as your cost of attendance (COA) for financial aid is based on eligible courses only.
If you are enrolled in 12 or more hours that count towards your program of study (degree or certificate), you will be considered a full-time student for cost of attendance purposes.
Although state and institutional aid are not subject to the same federal regulatory restrictions, your cost of attendance will be based only on coursework that applies to your program of study. This could result in a reduced amount of state or institutional aid as your total aid cannot exceed your cost of attendance.
For more information on this, see the CPOS section of the Processing Your Aid webpage.
