International Students

The Alamo Colleges District hosts students from various countries and provides support for international students to transfer to four-year universities. International Student Services (ISS) offers comprehensive assistance, including admissions processing, immigration advising, and student health services.

 

Listed below are four categories of international student admission. Please select the category that applies to you.
Note: All non-immigrant visa holders must complete one of the applications below.

New Student

The I-20 application is for individuals applying for an F-1 visa from outside the U.S.

 

Transfer Student

The I-20 application is also used for students interested in transferring from a U.S. college or university (current F-1 visa holders).

Concurrent/Transient Student

This application is for current F-1 visa holders attending a U.S. college or university who want to take classes at Palo Alto College during the regular or summer semester.

Other Visa

This application is for individuals who hold a visa other than F-1.

 

 


 

I-20 Application Deadlines

New International Students

(students applying from outside of the U.S.)

New international students are accepted for fall and spring only.

  • Fall semester (August): May 15
  • Spring semester (January): October 1
Transfer International Students

(students currently in the U.S. attending another college/university or U.S. high school)

We do not accept mid-semester or summer transfers.

  • Fall semester (August): June 15
  • Spring semester (January): November 1

Application packets can be sent electronically to pac-iss@alamo.edu, dropped off at the Rio Grande building, or mailed to the address listed on the I-20 application checklist. When all requirements have been met, your international student admission application will be evaluated for admission and if accepted, the Form I-20 and letter of acceptance will be issued by Palo Alto College. 

Note: To be eligible for transfer, your SEVIS record must be in active status.

 

Foreign Transcript Evaluation

All foreign transcripts must be evaluated and translated by a U.S. company. The college will only accept evaluations from NACES members.

Electronic transcript evaluations directly from the NACES member should be sent to pac-iss@alamo.edu and pac-admin@alamo.edu.

The college will only accept evaluations sent directly to us by the NACES member. We do not accept evaluations from applicants. 

Note: There is no guarantee transfer credit can or will be given. All evaluations are subject to review and approval by the college.

 

International Student Services Tuition

International Student (F-1 Visa) Estimated Cost of Attendance

International students are assessed at the current Non-Resident tuition and general fee rates, plus the Student Activity Fee.

Tuition and fees are subject to change by the Texas State Legislature and the Alamo Colleges Board of Trustees without prior notice.
