What is a Zoom-bomber?
A Zoom-bomber is an uninvited attendee who deliberately tries to disrupt a Zoom meeting.
How to avoid Zoom-bombing?
- Dont panic. The Remote Ready Boot Camp for Faculty had built in precautions.
- Build trust with your students.They want a safe environment too.
- Only share the link to your Zoom meeting in a protected setting such as Canvas.
- Manage your advanced settings. There are many options available. For more information click here.
How to quickly stop a Zoom-bomber?
- To stop unwanted screen sharing:
- Share your own screen. The host’s screen share will automatically overrule a participant’s screen share.
- Select the carat next to Share Screen and one of the following:
- One participant can share at a time
- Advanced settings Only Host
- To stop unwanted webcam video or audio:
- Select the Manage Participants button in the toolbar.
- Locate the uninvited person’s username.
- To the right of their username, mute their webcam and/or microphone.
- To remove an uninvited person from the meeting:
- Select the Manage Participants button in the toolbar.
- Locate the person’s username.
- Next to the name of the unwanted participant, click More.
- From the list that appears, click Remove.
