ACD Receives Achieving the Dream 20th Anniversary Network Legend Award

The Alamo Colleges District has received the prestigious 20th Anniversary Network Legend Award by Achieving the Dream. The award, presented at DREAM 2024, Achieving the Dream’s annual convening, marks a significant milestone in the Alamo Colleges partnership with the Network, spanning two decades of efforts to innovate and advance equity within the District and the greater San Antonio region.

Since 2004, the Alamo Colleges District has been an integral part of the Achieving the Dream Network, a coalition of over 300 colleges across the nation united in closing achievement gaps and accelerating student success. The Network Legend Award recognizes the 15 colleges that began their partnership with Achieving the Dream in 2004 and celebrates their longevity in the Network.

“This recognition reaffirms our work to increase student success metrics, while closing performance gaps among subgroups of students,” said Dr. Mike Flores, Alamo Colleges District Chancellor. “The Alamo Colleges remain steadfast in our moonshot of partnering to end poverty through education and training, ensuring our students have the opportunity to succeed.”

The Achieving the Dream Network serves as a catalyst for change, providing colleges with invaluable resources, support, and collaborative opportunities to address the evolving needs of their diverse student populations. Through innovative initiatives and data-informed strategies, member institutions are empowered to enact meaningful change and drive positive outcomes for students.

In addition to the Network Legend Award, the Alamo Colleges has earned recognition from Achieving the Dream as a Leader College of Distinction since 2020, for its work on advancing student success. This designation, reaffirmed in 2023, highlights the District's dedication to excellence and its ongoing pursuit of equitable outcomes for all learners.
