Reserved Courses

St. Philip’s College reserves seats for our military, dependent and veteran students in many courses online, at the campus and at our Joint Base San Antonio (JBSA) installation sites.

 

Important COVID-19 Information:

Students attending courses at JBSA locations MUST follow CDC guidelines and all guidelines set by the Department of Defense.  This includes MANDATORY mask use while inside facilities and social distancing.  Students who do not comply with mandatory requirements while on the installation will be disenrolled from their JBSA courses and subject to all associated tuition and fee charges per refund period.

Online & Campus Courses

Can civilian students get into online and campus courses reserved for military and veterans?
All students may request consideration for enrollment.  Depending on time remaining in the enrollment period and remaining space in the course, non-military/veteran students may be enrolled at the discretion of the college.

Military Installation Courses

Important Notice: Due to recent changes in installation access requirements at JBSA, within 14 days of course start date, those who DO NOT already have personal access to the installation will be denied enrollment into JBSA courses.

 

Can civilian students get into courses on the military installations?
All students may request consideration for enrollment. Depending on time remaining in the registration period and space remaining in the desired course, students in groups 2-5 may be considered, in group order, in the order received, at the discretion of the college.  All students including active military, must agree to submit a release of information authorization before enrollment.  Students MUST adhere to DoD and JBSA COVID-19 mandates, including mandatory wearing of masks while inside facilities.

Release of information authorization forms are included as part of the registration request for installation courses.

Students will be enrolled into installation courses by priority order established by the Department of Defense:
Group 1: Active Service Members
Group 2: Federally Funded DoD Civilian Employees
Group 3: DoD Civilian Employees & Active Service Dependents
Group 4: Retirees
Group 5: All Others (Includes Veterans and other dependents)
 

All students, including active service members, must agree to submit a release of information so our staff may provide information to installation security forces to complete a background check.  Those with negative civil or criminal information in their background either past or present, including unpaid parking or speeding tickets, are encouraged to seek enrollment elsewhere.  JBSA installation command has FINAL and sole discretion regarding installation access and enrollment in JBSA courses.
