    QEP Tip of the Week

    • Ms Cipher Enrichment Program: Miss Cipher is a new summer enrichment program focused on encouraging young females to explore the Computer Science field through interactive exploratory modules covering basic coding and robotics. Dates: July 11-July 14, 2022, Monday – Thursday 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM. Learn more!
    • SPC has launched a new virtual tour! The interactive tour including video interviews and 360-degree panoramic views of 20 different locations across the SWC AND MLK Campus. To experience the virtual tour click here!
    • COVID-19 Vaccine Boosters: COVID-19 vaccine boosters can further enhance or restore protection that might have decreased over time after your primary series vaccination. Students and employees are encouraged to use this CDC tool to determine when or if you can get one or more COVID-19 boosters.
    • Energy Conservation Efforts: Due to predicted power demands for Summer, the Alamo Colleges District is partnering with CPS Energy by instituting “energy conservation” efforts. The areas affected will be our AC systems. Energy conservation efforts will take place June 1 -September 30 between 1:00 and 5:00 p.m. and last approximately four hours. Utility providers do not have an exact date/time for each occurrence. Updates will be sent via email.
    • Parking Lot Closures: Due to renovations taking place at the Campus Center (CC) and Bowden Building (BOWD), parking lots P5, P6, and part of P9 will be closed. Road closures and fenced areas are depicted here.
    • SPC Spirit: St. Philip's College shows its spirit every Wednesday for Spirit Day. Students, faculty, and staff are encouraged to wear royal blue and white, or a blue SPC t-shirt!

    • Summer Career Exploration Workshops with Career Coach: Still unsure of your career pathway, or want to take a deeper dive into your chosen pathway? Then Career Coach is the tool for you! Learn more. 
    • Save time and money with free summer classes: Earn your degree in less time and save money by taking advantage of the Expanded Summer Momentum Plan. Students who earned hours in Spring 2022 at any of the Alamo Colleges may be eligible to receive three to nine academic credit hours FREE during the Summer 2022 semester. Summer registration is now open, so sign up for your free classes today!
    • Student Engagement Grants (SEG): The SEG Scholarship provides the opportunity to get involved with a special initiative, meeting other students, and developing a network of professional contacts. Financial support is provided to each student! Apply now. 
    • Emergency Grant Program: SPC offers students the opportunity to apply for an Emergency Grant. The purpose of the grant is to provide short-term financial assistance to enrolled, eligible students to address emergency situations. Students may apply on ACES by following the steps listed here.
    • Nursing Education Virtual Open Houses: Meet with directors, faculty and support staff to discuss entry into our Vocational Nursing and LVN/Military Mobility ADN programs at SPC. The following info sessions will take place July 11, August 8, September 12, October 3, November 7, and December 5. Learn more. 
    • Physical Therapist Assistant Program Information Sessions:  Learn about careers in physical therapy, St. Philip’s College’s Physical Therapist Assistant Program, and how to apply to the program.  The sessions will be conducted via Zoom, and you must request the Zoom link and password by e-mailing Ms. Kris Aguilar at The sessions will take place July 12 at 5:00 p.m. and August 2 at 11:00 a.m. Each session will contain the same information, so you do not need to attend more than one.

    • Legacy Day: Join us on August 18, 2022, for Legacy Day as we honor Artemisia Bowden’s Feast Day. The celebration will feature an unveiling of Saint Philips Way, a Mason’s Cornerstone Ceremony, and an Oak Tree Dedication in honor of Col. Roy W. Burley, Sr. In addition, we will officially celebrate the grand opening of the Saint Artemisia Bowden Building, Clarence W. Norris Building, William Allen Hudgins Health and Wellness Building, and host an open house for the Tourism, Hospitality, and Culinary Arts Building. Learn more.

In Memorium: It is with a heavy heart we announce the passing of Mr. Tom Milligan. Mr. Milligan was a retired faculty member of the Business Information Solutions (BIS) department.  Some of you may remember him through his work with VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) at St. Philip's College. Memorial Services for Mr. Milligan will be held July 10, 2022 at Ft. Sam Houston Golf Club starting at 2:00 p.m.
