Career planning provides you with direction and confidence to prepare you for the transition into the professional world. As an Alamo Colleges student, you can access several online career resources to help you in the career planning process. The following resources are available through Career Services at all five of our Alamo Colleges.

Focus 2

Focus 2 is an educational and career planning tool designed to help you choose fields that align with your personality, values, and goals. It offers five assessments (Work Interests, Personality, Leisure Activities, Values, and Skills) to provide you with information and insights related to your career selections. Focus 2 is an ideal resource if you want a holistic understanding of how a career aligns with your interests and values. Each College requires a different Focus 2 login process, so visit your College’s Career Services website listed below.

Career Coach

Career Coach is an online tool to explore popular careers and match them to your program. You can take a career assessment, explore career options, and research specific education or training programs. Once you select a particular career, you can search for detailed information, including the median salary and educational requirements for that career. Career Coach also offers support when you are ready to build a resume, a valuable resource for any job seeker.

Each of our five Alamo Colleges has a Career Services department that can offer you various career planning services. Career counselors are available to meet with you one-on-one and help you explore career options, set professional goals, and craft cover letters and resumes. They might even offer mock interviews and internship matching!
