INRW and ENGL Labs

Welcome to the Integrated Reading and Writing (INRW) and English (ENGL) Labs at Northwest Vista College!

The English and INRW Labs support the mission of Northwest Vista College by providing inclusive, collaborative writing support and coaching to students as they develop into confident, effective writers and multi-dimensional, critical thinkers.

The Northwest Vista College's Centers for Academic and English Support (CARES) aims to empower the NVC community through inclusive, supportive writing tutoring and coaching.

Our Goals

• To provide students with an opportunity to further develop their study skills and understanding of course content.
• To provide students with an opportunity to develop positive attitudes towards themselves, their studies, and their writing and cognition skills.
• To empower students to become confident, effective, and independent learners and writers.
• To work in partnership with faculty and staff to identify and assist students with academic needs.

Two Labs, One Mission

We provide specialized, personalized academic support to INRW and ENGL students in two labs, the INRW Support Lab and the College ENGL Tutoring Lab. We also provide supplemental instruction services in INRW, ENGL 1301 Plus, and ENGL 1301 Mega Plus courses.
