Our Vision

The vision of the AACA&CC is to build relationships to forge academic and career pathways among school districts, higher education institutions, community-based organizations, and civic and business leadership to promote greater student success outcomes. 

Consortium Membership

The consortium has grown to 28 regional partners across Bexar County and surrounding counties.  The membership includes community colleges, public and private universities, independent school districts, civic and community-based organizations.  The Consortium is Co-Chaired by Dr. Adelina S. Silva, Alamo Colleges District Vice Chancellor for Student Success, and Dr. Adriana Contreras, Executive Director of the San Antonio Education Partnership.  We welcome new members interested in joining the great work to fulfill our vision. 

Task Force Teams

The AACA&CC has identified three critical Task Forces with specific charges to implement the vision to improve completion and access in our region.  The effort of the task force teams continues throughout the year and includes diverse representation from our partners.  The task forces are as follows:

  2. Technology & Common Website
  3. Common Metrics

Task Force Charges

Annual Summit

The AACA&CC coordinates an annual summit that includes representatives from all partners serving on various planning committees to develop the theme, program, and speakers for the event.   

The summit is an opportunity to convene a large constituency of stakeholders to collaborate and develop collective impact strategies to build momentum toward addressing the educational and economic needs of our mutual service region.

2015 Inaugural Summit:

Establishing a foundational understanding of and commitment to the criticality of effective academic and career advising.

2016 2nd Annual Summit: 

The Criticality of Advising:  Preparing Today’s Student for a Lifetime Careers”

A seamless hand-off from milestone to milestone, preparing students for tomorrow’s workforce and lifelong learning & aligning to build a national advising model.

2017 3rd Annual Summit: 

Hand in Hand:  Paving the path for success!

Professionals sharing practices, tools, and resources that will support and prepare students to engage in their learning by guiding them to seek opportunities and paths that support their interest and passions.
