About Terace Fletcher
Dr. Fletcher received her BS in Medical Technology with minors in Biology and Chemistry from Northern Illinois University. After working a few years as a medical technologist in Illinois, she moved to San Antonio where she received a master’s degree in Chemistry from the University of Texas at San Antonio and a doctorate in Biochemistry from the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio. She then worked in biomedical research for over 20 years at the Cancer Therapy and Research Center, National Institutes of Health and, finally, the University of Miami Medical School. She subsequently moved into administrative positions, first as Science Chair, then as Academic Dean at West Coast University, Miami campus.
She moved back to San Antonio in the Fall of 2019 to join the team at Northeast Lakeview College where she teaches General Chemistry I, General Chemistry II and Introductory Chemistry. She is also writing a chemistry textbook that will focus on making chemistry more relevant to allied health students.
