About Dr. Jennifer Parrott
Dr. Jennifer Parrott is the daughter of an Air Force Colonel (Retired) and was raised all over the US, from Honolulu, HI to Washington DC. She attended the University of Tennessee at Knoxville and earned her BS in Biological Sciences with a concentration in Biochemistry and Cellular and Molecular Biology. Dr. Parrott then earned her Ph.D. in Biomedical Sciences locally at the UT Health Science Center. Currently, she is a Visiting Scientist at the UT Health Science Center where she researches inflammation and how it impacts autism.
Dr. Parrott is a member of the Natural Sciences & Kinesiology department as a Biology Instructor where she teaches Biology for Science Majors and Non-Science Majors as well as Human Anatomy & Physiology. Dr. Parrott also serves as the Faculty Advisor for the NLC Chapter of the National Society of Leadership and Success (NSLS), Sigma Alpha Pi. Dr. Parrott has always been passionate about learning and even more so about sharing with others her passion and knowledge. Outside of work, she enjoys crafting, spending time with her family/dogs, and decorating her new house.
