About Dr. Carol Bernard

Dr. Carol Bernard grew up just outside of Shreveport, LA. She completed her BA and MA in Natchitoches, LA, at Northwestern State University. She finished her Ph.D. at the University of Houston where she looked at queer theory and J.R.R. Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings. As you can imagine, it's her favorite book. She has taught for over 25 years, about half of which has been at Northeast Lakeview College. She primarily teaches composition I and II, British Literature I, and American Literature I. Outside of work, she likes to hike, do yoga, and snuggle with her cats.
