About Amanda Celaya

My name is Amanda Celaya and I’m a full-time Mathematics Instructor here at NLC. I’m from Lake Jackson, TX (south of Houston and home to Buc-ee’s) and I am a first-generation college graduate. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Master of Science in Mathematics Education from UTSA. Although teaching was not my first choice, I enjoy the challenges and rewards teaching offers at the college level. I began tutoring and then teaching in 2014 and have been at NLC since 2019. My interests outside of teaching are running, hiking, playing golf or pickleball, and traveling with friends and family.
