What is Digital Arts and Media?

Information technology for creative production has brought about significant changes in how we create and consume art and media. Advanced computer technologies in nearly every aspect of the entertainment sector and commercial media production points to the need for knowledge and skills in both the arts and the sciences.

What will I learn?

Digital Arts and Media requires a combination of digital technology and creativity. Students will learn the foundations of both digital art and media. The courses will provide a framework  for students planning to transfer to a four-year university or art school to major or minor in an area of creative digital media, and to offer training in industry-standard digital media applications for students who are preparing to enter one of the many arts professions including studio arts or one of the wide‐ranging applications of digital media, such as graphics, design or digital imaging.

What can I do with this course of study?

These courses prepare students to transfer to a university or other certificate program to strengthen their skills as graphic designers, animation artists, and illustrators by providing specific training in the technologies and techniques related to the fields of Digital Art and Media.
