NLC Receives 2023 Gold Veterans Excellence Recognition Award

The Texas Veterans Commission takes great pleasure in awarding Northeast Lakeview College with the Gold, Veterans Education Excellence Recognition Award (VEERA).
The Texas State Legislature established the VEERA program to recognize public colleges and universities for their excellence in providing education and related services to veterans and the military-connected community (Tex. Govt. Code § 434.252). Northeast Lakeview College applied for recognition and showcased its commitment toward ensuring the academic success of these individuals for the Academic Year 2022-2023.
This award recognizes the institutions that provide excellence in education and related services to veteran students, and promotes best practices by awarding Gold-, Silver- and Bronze-level status to those offering such services.
Institutions of higher education selected for an award are recognized publicly on the Texas Veterans Commission’s website and through various agency publication and media announcements. Awardees receive an electronic badge for use on the institution’s website, within printed materials, and for outreach to and recruitment of potential student veterans.
