The National Society of Leadership and Success (NSLS) is the nation’s largest leadership honor society. Students are selected by NVC for membership based on academic standing. In addition to honorable distinction, NSLS provides a step-by-step program for members to build their leadership skills. Upon completion of the program, members receive their leadership certificate and take their place among the top student leaders at their campus and across the country. Members are able to list their affiliations on all statements of personal accomplishment, including their resume.

The Society encourages community action, volunteerism, personal growth and strong leadership from its chapters and members around the world.

FAQS:

Orientation

All new members must sign up for ONE orientation. There will be two separate opportunities to fulfill this requirement during each semester.

New Member Orientation Only: RSVP on the NSLS website
*Fall 2023 Orientation Sessions TBA*

Leadership Training Day

Leadership Training Day (LTD)/Success Networking Team (SNT) #1 is now a hybrid event where you have the opportunity for self-exploration that will empower participants in identifying personal goals and talents. The duration of this training session is between two and a half to three hours long.

Our LTD/SNT1 hybrid event consists of an LTD during the first half of the meeting followed directly by the SNT1 portion. It is during the SNT1 portion of the event that we put you into your SNT groups that you will be with for the remaining SNT meetings (2 & 3). During this time your team will discuss and establish your next 2 meetings. Therefore if you miss an LTD/SNT1 hybrid event you will be disqualified from attending any other SNT meeting since those are created during the event missed (LTD/SNT1 Hybrid).

NOTE: Students that miss this opportunity please contact your NSLS advisor ASAP to discuss options. Members will only need to attend one LTD.

*Dates for LTD - TBA*

Success Networking Team

The Success Networking Team concept is based Napoleon Hill’s research on the most successful people in our country. He worked with and interviewed Thomas Edison, Woodrow Wilson, Andrew Carnegie and numerous others. In the process of conducting his study Hill discovered that many of his participants created a support team network with which they regularly met to share ideas and hold each other accountable for achieving goals. Today, highly successful people around the world routinely use Success Networking Teams to foster great achievement.

Within the Society, Success Networking Teams (SNTs) are one the vital components that inspire and encourage members to achieve individual and group successes. Within their SNT meetings members discuss the speaker presentations, set goals based upon what they’ve learned and where they are in their individual progress, and hold one another accountable for completing the action steps necessary to achieve their goals. This peer-to-peer mentoring, when paired with the speaker events, has proven to be extremely effective in enabling members to continually gain momentum and strive to achieve higher goals.

Success Networking Teams, in addition to the apparent benefits of setting and achieving goals, begin helping members to develop the “soft skills” of leaders through the nature of the teamwork. These skills include self awareness, supporting others, directing action, effective meetings, networking, working in teams, holding oneself and others accountable, and more.

If you would like to participate in SNTs this semester please review your academic schedule and the LTD/SNT1 schedule. You must sign up for a group online during one of the LTD/SNT1 scheduled events. You will be held accountable for attending the dates in which your group meets.

Each group consists of 3 meetings that will meet every other week.

**Failure to attend the FIRST date will disqualify you from the SNT group.
NOTE: THE FIRST DATE IS HELD DURING THE LTD/SNT1 EVENTS

You may RSVP for one group within the NSLS website HERE.

Speaker Broadcasts

The Society offers access to six speakers annually, the speaker topics and discussions revolve around personal success, leadership, money management, environmental awareness, personal health and wellness, and much more.
