What is the Human Resources Management program?

This program provides an understanding of the human resources functions that contribute to the success of an organization, including recruiting, developing and retaining employees.

What will I learn?

You’ll learn the fundamentals of employee recruitment, hiring, benefits, training and development. You’ll explore the ethical, legal and social factors that shape today’s workplace. You’ll also gain an understanding of the state and federal labor codes that companies and organizations must remain in compliance with.

What can I do with this course of study?

This program gives you the foundational knowledge to pursue entry-level HR positions, such as an HR assistant, insurance claims clerk or benefit coordinator. Most management positions in this field require a bachelor’s degree. Because an associate degree is the equivalent of the first two years of a bachelor’s degree, you’ll be prepared to transfer to a four-year university to continue your studies.

What is special about the program?

This program is available both face-to-face and fully online. The program also offers a Level 1 Certificate in Human Resources Management so you can earn a certificate that prepares you for entry-level career options while you work on your associate degree. An associate degree in human resources management can serve as a foundation for a bachelor's degree in multiple disciplines.
