Open Advising
  • Brief (≤ 30 mins) advising guidance during SAC Open Advising sessions
  • Get assistance with general questions and info on tasks to release PIN
  • NO APPOINTMENT NEEDED
Appointment-based Advising
  • 30-45 mins session with your ASSIGNED ADVISOR
  • Visit Advising Services to learn how to schedule appointments
  • Get assistance with DISMISSAL petitons, FINANCIAL AID appeals, and GRADUATION applications
  • Learn how to submit requests for Change of Major, Change of Primary Institution, and Course Overloads

Certified Advisors provide a variety of advising services:

  1. At key points in a student's academic journey
  2. Via e-mail, telephone, and virtual sessions during the COVID-19 pandemic
  3. During available extended and weekend hours
  4. Such as comprehensive academic and career advising, CPOS verifications, and coaching for academic recovery concerns such as probation and dismissal
  5. That support the MISSION of the College by facilitating optimal learning and successful attainment of student educational goals

NEW STUDENTS

NEW STUDENTS, please review the enrollment checklist to confirm that you are ready to meet with a Certified Advisor. If you still need to complete the ADMISSIONS PROCESS, contact an Enrollment Coach.

CONTINUING STUDENTS

CONTINUING STUDENTS, please refer to your Alamo GPS, found in ACES, to review your degree tracking tools:

  • SAC DEGREE PLANS allow you to view the courses you need to advance in your selected SAC program of study 
  • TRANSFER ADVISING GUIDES (TAG) identify courses that apply to your SAC program and the University major at your identified transfer school
