What is the English program?

The English program helps you develop writing, reading, communication and thinking skills that are essential for any career.

What will I learn?

You’ll study composition, creative writing, technical writing and literature. You’ll learn the skills to research and write college-level compositions, including the guidelines for formatting manuscripts and citing sources in your writing. You’ll also study literature from cultures around the world.

What can I do with this course of study?

This program prepares you to transfer to a four-year university to continue your education in English or select a specialty area in the field, such as literature, technical writing or education. The program is also a pathway for careers requiring writing and critical thinking skills, including teaching, technical writing, content manager, public relations specialist, journalism, business, advertising and law.
