National Society of Leadership and Success

The National Society of Leadership and Success (NSLS) is the largest leadership honor society in the United States. Our NSLS chapter at San Antonio College is part of the national organization with 700+ chapters and over 1.4 million members.

Students are selected based on exemplary academic achievement and leadership potential. As of 2023, we have over 4,000 members who have access to:

  • More than $400,000 in annual scholarships and awards
  • An exclusive NSLS online job board
  • A personalized letter of recommendation

The NSLS leadership development program teaches interpersonal skills that employers seek to give you an edge in the job market. Hear directly from current members as they share how their experience has changed their lives.

These are some of the benefits you can take advantage of as a member:

  • Learn from former Presidents, celebrities, entrepreneurs, and other global leaders in exclusive Speaker Broadcasts.
  • Meet new friends and make lifelong connections on campus and online.
  • Overcome challenges with success coaches and shortcut your path to success.

Steps to Membership:

Students who are eligible to join must have a GPA of 2.5 or higher and have completed 9 hours of college-level coursework. There are four steps members must complete in order to be an Inducted Member of the Society. While many pending members complete the four steps within one semester, there is no time requirement to complete the steps to full membership.

I. Orientation

Attend an informational meeting at the beginning of the membership semester that details the rights and responsibilities of membership.

II. Speaker Events

Attend three speaker broadcasts (live streaming or re-broadcasts) with nationally known speakers.

III. Leadership Training

Attend a training session that focuses on exploring challenges, recognizing strengths, identifying passions, and setting up a personal plan to initiate the change needed to move forward as a leader.

IV. Success Networking Teams (SNT)

Team members learn to work within a team framework, provide peer coaching, set and achieve goals along specific timelines, and hold themselves and others accountable for results. Attend an SNT Orientation and at least three SNT meetings in a row to meet this requirement.
