About Sue Stankus

Sue Stankus is an engineering instructor at NLC. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from Texas Lutheran University and her Master’s degree in Operations Research and Industrial Engineering from the University of Texas. She worked in industry as an operations research analyst and industrial engineer for 14 years and in higher education as a data analyst for 5 years. When working as a statistics instructor at the University of the Incarnate Word for several years, she discovered that she enjoyed helping students understand how to apply math and statistics to solve problems. To continue in that career, she returned to graduate school and earned her Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Texas at San Antonio. In her free time, she enjoys quilting, cooking, reading, and exercise.
