ADVICE FROM MONICA

  • Recommended Resource: The resource I would like to share with the students is the Student Advocacy Center. They offer a variety of services like Grab-n-go snacks, food, personal counseling, support groups. emergency assistance and will also assist students with WIC/TANF/MEDICAID/SNAP.
  • Reflection: I wish I would have utilized the Pantry while in college. Taking full-time courses and working full-time made it difficult to squeeze in snacks or dinner.

ADVICE FROM NORMA

  • Recommended Resource: Advocacy Center: This department can assist with food, funds, clothing or even a personal counselor.
  • Reflection: Participate in a club. I was a non-traditional student so had no time for that, work, and family.
Mary Segovia

Location: Moody Learning Center (MLC 100)
E-mail: msegovia@alamo.edu

ADVICE FROM MARY

  • Recommended Resource: The resource I would use with students is the Advocacy Center. The Advocacy Center has a lot of resources available to help students that are in need of food or need help paying their utilities. They also offer counseling services. We have a lot of students that are in need of food and assistance with other services.
  • Reflection: I wish that I would have met with my advisor frequently.
