The SAC Advocacy Resource Room powered by Whataburger is a food and toiletries pantry available to students and employees.
The food pantry is made possible by a collaboration with the San Antonio Food Bank, Whataburger, and H-E-B. In addition to perishable (milk, eggs, meat, etc.) and non-perishable (dried and canned beans, condiments, etc.) items, the Advocacy Center has toiletries including soap, deodorant, and diapers up to size 6 available.
To access the pantry, students and employees are required to make an appointment and complete paperwork that includes acknowledging they will abide by the rules of the store, such as arriving 15 minutes in advance and an understanding of the number of items are allowed per visit. To make an appointment, call the Student Advocacy Center Helpline at 210-486-1111.
Resource room items can also be accessed through the department's Order Ahead system, where an individual can be sent a link to shop online. To utilize this service, call the Student Advocacy Center Helpline.
Students and employees can visit the food pantry two times per month; the hygiene shelves may be accessed once a month, with a three item limit per visit; the Whataburger items, including reusable bags and water bottles, can be accessed once a month.
