Vice President for Student Success

Dr. Tangila Dove serves as Vice President for Student Success at Northeast Lakeview College (NLC).  In this role, she is responsible for admissions, advising, career and transfer services, counseling, disability services, enrollment management, financial aid, job placement, student conduct, Title IX, student leadership and engagement, and veteran affairs. In addition, she oversees the advocacy center, assessment center, and business office.  In addition, she provides college-wide leadership for the Strategic Enrollment Management (SEM) plan that includes onboarding/enrollment management, marketing and recruitment, progress and completion, and academic programs.

Dr. Dove has over 20 years of higher education experience, with 12 as an administrator at NLC.  She served as Vice President of College Services at NLC prior to assuming her current role. Under Dr. Dove's leadership, NLC received initial accreditation, with commendation, by the Southern Association of Colleges Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC), in December 2017.  In addition, Dr. Dove co-leads the College's Baldrige Leadership Team through their state performance excellence journey where NLC has received recognition at the Progress Level (2020) Commitment Level, in 2019, Engagement Level, in 2018, and at the Pioneer Level, in 2016, from the Quality Texas Foundation (QTF).


Dr. Dove also served as the Director of College Services at Northeast Lakeview College. Before joining NLC in August 2006, she was the Campus Budget Officer at Alamo Colleges-St. Philip's College and taught as an adjunct faculty member in Accounting for St. Philip's College and as an Operational Management and Technical Management adjunct faculty member for Wayland Baptist University.

Dr. Dove served as President for the Community Colleges Business Officers (CCBO) Board of Directors in 2015-2016. She completed the Association of Title IX Administrators Title IX Level One Certification in 2019, the Harvard School of Education Institute for Educational Management in 2017, and the Harvard Kennedy School Crisis Leadership in Higher Education Program in 2016.  Dr. Dove is a 2015 graduate for Leadership Women Texas, a 2009 graduate for the Community College Business Officers Leadership Academy and a 2007-2008 graduate for the Alamo Colleges Leadership Academy for Success (ALAS). Dr. Dove is also a two-time award recipient for the National Institute for Staff and Organizational Development (NISOD), receiving this award in 2007 and 2011.

Dr. Dove's professional affiliations include American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (AACRAO), Association of Title IX Administrators (ATIXA), National Association of Student Personnel Administrators (NASPA), and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.

Dr. Dove's degrees include a B.B.A. in Accounting from Jackson State University, an M.B.A. from Webster University, and a Ph.D. in Higher Education Administration from Capella University.
