External Scholarships
External or "outside" scholarships consist of privately funded scholarships that are sponsored by private donors, professional organizations, foundations, and other sources outside of SAC.

TheDream.US Scholarship -- Is a national scholarship fund for immigrant youth who've received DACA, who want to obtain a college education and give back to their communities. https://www.thedream.us/
January 12, 2018 - TheDream.US announced today a $33 million dollar scholarship grant from Jeff and MacKenzie Bezos. The grant, the largest in our organization's history, will give 1,000 undocumented immigrant graduates of US high schools with DACA status the opportunity to go to college. Here is a link to our press release: http://www.thedream.us/news/bezosgrant/
This gift comes at a time when it is important for DREAMers to know that we stand with them. From every corner, they are faced with messages that question their presence in this country - if not their existence as human beings. This gift from Jeff and MacKenzie is a strong statement of love and support for DREAMers.

The San Antonio Branch offers $500 scholarships to assist women in purchasing required textbooks. Applications will be accepted from both undergraduate and graduate students who are attending a college or university in Bexar County and from high school students with an unconditional letter of acceptance to a college or university in Bexar County for the upcoming summer/fall. The postmark deadline is the first week of February each year for applicants to submit their name, address, telephone number, email address, a short essay, no longer than 250 words, on (1) what their goals are and (2) how a textbook scholarship would help achieve their goals, and a transcript demonstrating a grade point average of 3.0 or better (or the equivalent).
