Student Conduct & Title IX
The Student Conduct and Title IX Office coordinates various cultural awareness events, preventative programming, and trainings throughout the year. Programs include sexual assault prevention, dating/domestic violence prevention, and stalking awareness.
We are dedicated to strengthening sexual assault prevention and response at San Antonio College. We strive in responding to all complaints and issues within 24 hours of the reported incident.
Non-Academic Misconduct
The Alamo Colleges District Student Code of Conduct (ACSCOC) cites both standards of conduct and consequences (sanctions) for violations. Also, it prescribes procedures for determination and appeal of violations as well for disciplinary hearings. The ACSCOC applies to non-academic misconduct and conduct involving academic integrity.
The ACSCOC disciplinary process is intended to continually protect and foster the learning environment and interest of the Alamo Colleges District community. Students who are held responsible for engaging in inappropriate behavior are encouraged, or assigned if necessary, to productivity engage in student-support services and challenged to always maintain behavior that complies with the code. Strategies of Behavioral Intervention (SOBI)
The SOBI Team promotes student well-being, a thriving campus environment, and successful academic experiences through an active process of assessment and intervention. Hostility, verbal aggression, depression, isolation, and withdrawal are key signals that should not be ignored. Disregarding early warning signs facilitates escalation.
Students are encouraged to review the SOBI guidelines and report concerning behaviors to the SOBI response team. When in doubt, please report! Remember that SOBI is non-punitive. Title IX - Sexual Misconduct
Title IX is a federal law that prohibits discrimination based on sex (gender) of employees and students of educational institutions receiving federal financial assistance. Title IX's prohibition of discrimination includes acts of sexual harassment and relationship violence.
San Antonio College does not tolerate sex discrimination, sexual harassment, or sexual violence of any kind. To ensure compliance with Title IX, the Alamo Colleges District has designated a District Title IX Coordinator and a Deputy Title IX Coordinator at each college. [Read More...]

San Antonio College is committed to appropriate resolution of complaints as efficiently and effectively as possible. We believe providing a mechanism for complaints and/or grievances to be heard gives us the opportunity to improve our services.
Non-Academic Grievances
Students are encouraged to use the Non-Academic Grievance Procedure only where there is clear and convincing evidence that a college official has treated the student unfairly through forms of discrimination, abuse and/or harassment.
Prior to initiating a formal grievance, the student should make a reasonable effort to resolve the problem with the person, or supervisor of the program, against whom the complaint is being made. Click here if you would like to report a Non-Academic Grievance.
Academic Grievances / Integrity
Faculty are responsible for classroom management, teaching strategies, testing and evaluation of student performance. At academic institutions conflicts may develop within the educational process that requires academic intervention using the Academic Grievance process.
When student grievances cannot be resolved through information interaction with a faculty member or chair/coordinator, students are directed to use the Academic Grievance process only when there is clear and convincing evidence that a faculty member has treated the student unfairly. Student Petitions
Students are encouraged to fill out a student petitions for any justifiable balance discrepancies, Refunds, Medical withdrawals, death of someone close etc. Supporting documentation must be provided with the Student Petition form i.e. emails, screenshots, medical records, obituaries etc. The dates, occurrence, duration and how it negatively affected your coursework must be included on the supporting documentation. All must coincide with the term in question. There needs to be undeniable proof of hardship. Grade changes, three-peat rule or anything that requires departmental decisions are not done through the petition process. The Committee will not review anything over a year.
