Arali Garcia, 2024 Graduate

Associate of Arts

A 2024 graduate, Arali is studying Political Science at NLC where she has held various leadership positions. Currently, she is the president of the NLC Student Government Association (SGA), the Student Trustee Alternate of the Alamo Colleges District
Board of Trustees, and a peer ambassador in the Veteran’s Center. Read more about Arali

Rachel Akouka, 2024 Graduate

Associate of Arts

Rachel is a 2024 Northeast Lakeview College graduate and part of the Judson Early college Academy (JECA) program. where she will graduate with a high school diploma through Judson ISD and earn an associate degree from Northeast Lakeview College. Through her volunteer work, she was inspired to attend
UTSA and pursue a career in physical therapy because it would allow her to continue
her passion of helping others. Rachel is the valedictorian for JECA and will represent
the class of 2024 at their high school graduation in late May 2024. Read more about Rachel here

Jaqueline Mae Weir, 2024 Graduate

Associate of Arts

Jacqueline was raised in a military family that settled near Randolph AFB when she was in grade school. A graduate of Samuel Clemens High School, she transitioned into cosmetology, working both as a military barber and in her own salon. Read more about Jacqueline

Jared Esparza, 2024 Graduate

Associate of Arts

A non-traditional student, Jared has aspirations to one day work with small businesses to help them succeed. His ultimate goal is to use his analytical skills to work as either an operations or systems analyst. Jared is the president of the
NLC chapter of National Society of Leadership and Success, Student Government Association historian, and a member of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. Read more about Jared

Keera Ortiz, SOAR Graduate

Associate of Arts

As the SOAR Graduate, Ms. Ortiz will deliver the Commencement speech and represent the Class of 2024.  Interested students apply for consideration and are reviewed and selected by a cross-college committee of faculty and staff. SOAR represents Success, Opportunity, Achievement, and Responsibility. The student selected best represents these characteristics.

Alongside her studies at NLC, Keera volunteers and fosters at the Humane Society of New Braunfels, where she provides care and shelter for abandoned or abused animals. She opens her home and heart to these animals while helping them find their forever home. Keera's dedication to excellence is further demonstrated through her participation in the National Technical Honor Society, which acknowledges her exceptional success in career and technical education.
